מחקרו עוסק בהתהוות המסורות בטקסטים המכוננים של הדתות המונותאיסטיות, ובחשיבותן של מסורות אלה לפרשנות זהותן של קבוצות דתיות, לתולדות מבנים עתיקים ומודרניים, ולתרבותן ולאידאולוגיה של חברות אגן הים התיכון.

האב יוזף מריו בריפה, ישועי

מנהל התוכניות לסטודנטים של הביבליקום ומנהל המוזיאון; פרופסור חבר בפקולטה למקרא של האוניברסיטה האפיפיורית הגרגוריאנית (המכון הביבלי האפיפיורי).

ארכאולוג (דוקטורט, המכון לארכאולוגיה, University College London, 2017), העוסק בצלמיות מתקופת הברזל בדרום הלבנט, במורשת החפירות של המכון הביבלי האפיפיורי בתוליילאת ע׳סול ובתולדות הארכאולוגיה באזור. מאז 2013 הוא חופר במסגרת משלחת לאוטנשלגר לעזקה, ובשנת 2022 היה שותף לניהול החפירות בדיר טנטור. מאז 2018 הוא משמש אוצר מוזיאון המכון בירושלים, והוא מלמד ארכאולוגיה וגאוגרפיה היסטורית של המקרא.

הוא עוסק באיגרות פאולוס ובתאולוגיה שלהן. הוא מלמד תאולוגיה מקראית בגרגוריאנה מאז 1991, עמד בראש המחלקה לתאולוגיה מקראית של הפקולטה בשנים 2018–2021, והנחה יותר מארבעים עבודות דוקטור.

מנהל התוכניות של המכון האפיפיורי למזרח; פרופסור מן המניין ודיקן הפקולטה ללימודי הנצרות המזרחית במכון האפיפיורי למזרח (האוניברסיטה האפיפיורית הגרגוריאנית).

הוא עוסק בספרות הנוצרית הסורית והערבית, בההדרת טקסטים שלה ובתרגומם, ובמיוחד בחיבוריו התאולוגיים של עבדישוע בר בריכא, מטרופוליט נציבין (נפטר 1318). הוא חוקר במרכז לתיעוד ולמחקר של הספרות הנוצרית הערבית (Centre de documentation et de recherches arabes chrétiennes, CEDRAC) באוניברסיטת סן־ז׳וזף (Université Saint-Joseph) בביירות, עורך ראשי של Orientalia Christiana Analecta, וחבר בוועדה הבין־לאומית המשותפת לדיאלוג תאולוגי בין הכנסייה הקתולית לכנסייה האשורית של המזרח.
