About the collection
The Library of the Pontifical Biblical Institute (PBI) in Jerusalem is part of the network of libraries of the Pontifical Gregorian University. A connection between the PBI Library and the other Gregorian University libraries is currently being planned, with the aim of facilitating access to their collections and resources.
In the meantime, the PBI Library’s holdings are being progressively entered into an electronic catalogue, which will make the collection increasingly accessible and easier to consult.
The Library provides the essential books and resources needed by students following the programmes offered by the Campus. For more advanced and specialised research, students also have access to the rich academic libraries of Jerusalem, including those of the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum, the École Biblique et Archéologique Française, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Together, these resources provide students with a solid foundation for their studies and with access to the wider scholarly resources of Jerusalem, one of the world’s most important centres for biblical and theological research.
